Joanna Narbutt, MD PhD, works at the Department of Dermatology, Medical University of Lodz, Poland. Her main research interests focus on the UV-induced changes in human immunity. In this field, she has published numerous articles in Polish and international scientific journals. She was awarded with prestigious grants founded by Polish Scientific Committee, L'Oréal For Women in Science Committee and international scientific societies such as AAD, SID, ESDR, ESCD. In 2003-2005, she was a local coordinator of EU project „Immunological health and adaptation following chronic exposure to environmental ultraviolet radiation”. Since 2009, she coordinates in Poland EU project “The impact of climatic and environmental factors on personal ultraviolet radiation exposure and human Heath - ICEPURE”. Next to her research, at the Department she is also responsible for the diagnosis and therapy of patients suffering from UV-induced dermatoses, especially idiopathic photodermatoses. Since 2008, Dr Narbutt is the Secretary General of Polish Dermatological Society.
Dr Narbutt will present her lecture "The influence of light on the skin immune system" during the Photoallergy Meeting (18 September 2009), and she also will serve as member of Faculty during the Photopatch Test Course (19 September 2009).
