Dr Alastair Kerr (MRCP) has been working under Professor James Ferguson in the department of Photobiology, Dundee, U.K. since 2005 and has been Clinical Lecturer there since January 2007. He has been active in different areas of clinical photobiological research including phototherapy, PDT, phototoxicity and photoallergy. He is also active in the clinical management of patients with photodermatoses as well as teaching at an under-graduate and post-graduate level.

He has a special interest in photocontact allergy and is currently undertaking a higher degree at the University of Dundee. As part of this, he is co-ordinating a European Multi-Centre study (44 centres in 16 countries) investigating the frequency of photoallergy to organic sunscreens and topical NSAID’s. He is a member of the British Association of Dermatologists (BAD), British Society of Investigative Dermatology (BSID) and British Photodermatology Group.

Dr Alastair Kerr will present his lecture "The epidemiology of photoallergy" during the Photoallergy Meeting (18 September 2009), and he also will serve as member of Faculty during the Photopatch Test Course (19 September 2009).
